Yes, this bears serious consideration. I don't know the details of construction
of the 1050, but it probably looks a lot like the innards of my Allen-Bradley.
A LOT of connections between boards and backplanes, cables and boards,
etc.

How long have you had it, and how many hours have you used it? I spent
a good deal of time getting the bugs out of my control after moving it, and then
had 3 breakdowns in 6 months or so. Also, LOTS of quirky stuff whenever
I moved the cables inside. It seems that the connectors just wear out
after so many cycles of connection/disconnection.
