Yes. You need a set of gauge blocks and a large machinist's square. You
align the square with an axis, and clamp carefully to the table. You mount
a dial test indicator in the spindle. You can then move to specific coordinates
as measured from the leadscrew, and read error on the DTI when you place
an equivalent stack of blocks in the corner of the square. I was lucky enough
to pick up high accuracy ground ballscrews, so there is no error to compensate.
I need to work on the backlash, however.
