I have built and sold over 40 CNC sherline machiens and they all run
in excess of 40 ipm. I have a few machines that have gone to
production / high use customers, one of which was capable of running
in excess of 100 ipm. The leadscrew nuts were routinely adjusted /
replaced as necessary. This machine was eventually refurbed by simply
replacing the leadscrews, nuts, and gibs. While there was some wear
that could be seen in the black anodize, the machine is still running
as good today as it was 5 or 6 years ago.
