Bridgeport BOSS drivers do not take step and direction. They take full
step phase
drive waveforms, and you have to control the power reduction circuit
when stopped,
or the drivers will burn up. There are circuits for converting step/dir
to full step
phase waveforms, but EMC will generate the phase waveforms instead of
step/dir.
You still have to come up with the circuit to decide when to go to low
power.
