Sounds like a cross between jig-bore and a radial arm. If it is a
jig-bore and in good condition, it can split tenth's repetitvly.

you might be so kind as to post some of the pictures.

me, I'm kicking myself for being a day late. The shop a few miles
away got 4 milling centers and gave away a dozen bridgeports to make
room.
