Magnetic fanatics:
I liked Jan's comments...but carrying that a little farther...I played a
little with hall effect devices and they looked pretty good for home
switches. I did not use them because I could not isolate the magnets
effectively from the swarf. Big furball indeed!
If you can fix that problem by physical isolation that all should be well.
