Dear Kayla,
For single ended signals such as you are talking about the twisted pair
is one signal line (step or direction) and one ground line, therefore it
doesn't matter how many signals there are, they always come out even. Do NOT
twist two signals together. P.S. last post is right, it makes very little
difference in the cable if the interface is done right and the cable is less
