Well, .003" backlash isn't too bad, but getting it down will make it
even better.
I have about .0015" backlash in my setup, which is mostly due to flexing
of the
various brackets, adaptors, mounts, yokes, etc. in the chain of
structures. So, you
may want to consider that your backlash may be greater than the .003" due to
flexing of your setup.
