I am not sure I understnad the gap question.


If you put a hole in the center and cut your way to the ID of the
ring, it would meet and ID in a slope. You should be spinning the
table all the time so there is no pause. then at the end of the cut,
the table moves so the cutter is free from the edge.


If you start/stop or pause with the cutter in contact with the finish
surface, it is likely that you will leave a tooling mark.
