Hi Tad,

Most of the plasma tables I have seen have been in sheet metal shops.

they use a wavey sheet metal section to hold up the work.

think of putting a 4 foot long piece of 20 gauge into a 3 foot wide
space with the piece bent into a serpintine shape. it would allow
the work to lay flat and it would not be cut thru on any one pass.

Underneith would be a water bath and exhaust vent. just lay
cardboard on the table openings not covered by your parts and the
exhaust fan will suck all the smoke out.

ps: check out the pics in the photo's section daves unit.
this is a plasma table from the South Jersey steel supplier. 10 ft
by 28 feet. and there is like 6 feet of unused space. you can see
the guy doing some work at the far end of the table.
