Chris,
thank you for pointing out different ways to unload shaft bearings of the
stepper, which are actually quite small. In my case I don't have any
cutting forces involved - just
strictly positioning in X-Y plane (Z is fixed).
Will place a sketch of a guide I came up with, thanks to many helpful
suggestions,
may be tonight.
