Hi Alex, one way to get holes aligned pretty well on a drillpress is
to get a drill bushing for your hole size(s)

mount an angle on the column with a muffler clamp (large U shape with
bolts)

then mount a 1/4 piece of aluminum plate or something on that angle
so it reaches out under the drill.

drill a hole in that plate then ream for the bushing.

now you would have a method to guid the drill be to a distance
exactly located from the drill press column and under the chuck.

if you want to drill holes along a part, mount this contraption on
the column, and mount a guide fence firmly onto the table so that the
hole will be the distance from the guide fence you need.

move your part, C-clamp it to the guide fence and table and drill.
losten the clamps and move the part. All the holes will be the same
distance from the fence. spacing between holes is more tricky, but
you should get the idea.
