I would worry about the etching being complete near the electrical
path but not as complete on the side of the etch that is near the
isolated pads.

Makes me wonder if there is a conductive coating that would act as a
resist also.

that way, one could etch with EDM, then polish with ferric chloride
to scrub any thing sections.

seems like a great idea !

any idea what software can be used to program tool paths etching
isolated sections first ?
