Alan,
for audio analog reading of amplitude are being entered into A/D
converter and digital readings received 8,000 times per second.
I presume that your probe is being attached to the potentiometer which
generates analog voltage which in turn goes into
A to D converter. In this case it is quite similar to an audio.
Isn't it correct?
