Most Bridgeport CNC machines have 3-phase transformers in the power
supply. If you don't have real 3-phase power, it is best to replace the
transformer with single phase.

If it is a CNC machine, it will ALREADY have ballscrews. They may be
worn to the point that they have some backlash, however.
