for getting and copying the BDI-Live.
You can download any BDI iso from www.sherline.com/emc. (Thanks
Sherline.) You can also get slightly newer handbooks and some developer
stuff from the same link.
Live does use the Linux kernel, and it is about as pristine a linux kernel
as you will find in a distribution. It comes from the Debian Sarge
repository or mirrors and is much closer to the Linus Torvalds approved
version than are the similar numbered kernels from Red Hat or Mandrake.
