HP produced an excellent tech & maintance manual for the older pen plotters
such as the 75XX series.

I have a 7585B 8 pen plotter and the tech manual for it. Has complete
schematics and pcb views as well as good circut discriptions. I belive that
the X & Y servos are analog input not step & direction.

Find a plotter to strip then fing the manual for it on ebay.

BTW these are all done with off the shelf IC's etc. very easy to repair.
Just make sure that you have saved a ROM image as that is the only "custom"
IC in the beasts.
