I'm an old, x field rep for IBM and we marketed the HP plotters under our
logo. I never saw a schematic of the boards, for the plotter, or any other
machine. The board was the FRU. If you were lucky, you might have some
pin line names, but that would be the most you could expect. Even when I
was working with development engineering, schematics were un-heard of, and
in later years logic diagrams were getting scarce. The last board I
repaired was probably back in the 70's, and it was only possible then
because it was all discrete components that I could meter out. Boards just
were not made to be repaired, at least in the field.
