I hope I'm not doing that. If 1/4 hp is needed and the 1/2 hp motor
is spun at half speed, about 1/4 hp is delivered. So, a 3,000 rpm
motor of 3/4 hp spun to 1,000 rpm would offer about 1/4th hp.

I'm just looking at the motor speed where the power will be
used/required.
