Hi Ron,

The heat is generated in the armature. The heat gets transferred to the
air in the motor and then from the air to the case and out of the motor.
The faster it spins the more air movement there is inside the motor so
the more heat gets transferred. The worst case is when the motor is
stalled the only heat transfer then is due to radiation and convection.
