On e-bay I found matching 60Vdc/krpm slender motors with "made-for"
attached planetary gearheads at 12:1 ratio. I will run these at 75
Vdc with geckos slaved and direct to the 3.8" per rev dual rack and
pinions. They will mount nicely on the back side of the gantry. With
the "new" USDigital small 500CPR (2000ppr) encoders. They will
operate just under the max 45000 pulse from Mach2 for full speed.
The only problem I foresee is setting up the mechanics to be true so
the pinion travels nicely throughout the rack....a problem also
encountered with steppers.
