Hi John,
Thanks. One of the problems I ran into was coupling the leadscrew to the
motor. Since my system was purely for positioning and not milling I made a
coupler that was threaded on one end to the same pitch as the screw. The
other side presses onto the motor shaft and is held in place with a
setscrew. A locknut prevents the leadscrew from unwinding. The Stepper
bearings are used to hold things in place. (not the best I agree).

I've never really been able to get a decent connection with this coupler
method. How did you connect your screw to the motor?
