motherboard list, was Re: Steppers "thunking"

Steve,
Is that a resource you'd be willing to share- the list of
motherboards and which ones worked?

I will be putting together a backup PC soon, and would like it to
work with Mach3. The last PC died recently.

Do any of the motherboards have 5V parallel ports, so they can
reliably drive Geckos?

Or is it best to always use a breakout board?
Is the Gecko G100 a reasonable option to use with Mach3 instead of a
breakout board?
