Never kept the details, only the one that didn't.

I tend to use Asus motherboards and AMD processors, and try and avoid
VIA chipsets. NVidia chipset motherboards seem to work well.

Also stay away from boards with onboard graphics if you can.

Use an isolated breakout board. Keeps noise and "stray electricity" out
of the PC.

Got a ways to go with firmware yet IMO, and it's not isolated.
