I would be surprised composite analog inputs would disapear on digital
TVs that fast. At least for the next 10-15 years. They are so simple
to implement and there will be alot of equipement outputing analog
video for many years in homes. Think of all those game units, legacy
equipement, etc.
In any case, we did consider this alot and came to the conclusion that
many users would either be using old TVs/monitors or CCTV monitors for
this kind of application.
We could have the same discussion about our pick of a PS2 keyboard
port but the same logic applies. There will be PS2 keyboards available
for many years still.
Implementing a USB keyboard or digital video would be possible but
would drive the cost up considerably. We are trying to put the
emphasis on fast powerfull CNC features while keeping the cost low.
