What are you trying to measure. Do you want to do linear calibration or
squareness. In general you are better off with 2 separate instruments. I
use an Optodyne laser for the linear calibration because it requires little
setup time. I use a Hamar 3 axis level and square unit that is easy to set
up and is accurate to .2 arc sec. and can do up to 100 feet any direction.
Both are about 18k usd.
