Quite possible, but the task was to produce a toolpath over a complex 3d
model.

Out of interest I just resized mach's window to I could show the task
mangers cpu usage graph while I was cutting a part. Not a complex
part, just 2.5d piece, machining two parts per cycle.

cpu usage averages at 30-40% while cutting, only peaks higher when in
long rapids and just after cycle start.

Mach shows buffer load at 17-20% and time in interupt 5-10. pulse
frquency 36000 varying about +- 5Hz when cutting.

Sure it maybe could be better with more ram, but it's good enough now,
it's a machine control and nothing else.

I do find personally XP to be too bloated, and only use it on the office
pc because thats what it came with. w2k has never actaully let me down
once. On the cnc control I'd actually be happy with a dos program, and
in fact I use one of those too! (Ahha)
