I have a inertia conversion chart that I use that changes and format from one to another.

Dan,
I'm not questioning your math, just curious how you came about the
multiplier 1.416 x 10^-5?

Not sure what you are asking?
To convert g-cm^2 to oz-in-sec^2 you multiply
the g-cm^2 by 1.416X10^-5
thus 340g-cm^2X1.416X10^-5=.00481oz -in-sec^2
I sort of recognize the chart you had was from Mendonet but it doesn't list
what the inertia term is based on i.e. kilogram per forth night etc. and I
wouldn't trust that web site anyway.

Hi Dan,

Just for fun, I looked up the steppers that I got from Sanyo-Denki

http://sanyo-denki-online.com/nema23.htm

232-180-DB 180 2 2.1 1.05 4.5 1.97 2.16 2.98
$102 $0.57

The rotor inertia is listed as 1.97 oz/in2 for this 180 oz-in stepper.

340 g-cm^2 = 1.86 oz-in^2 ??

That seems to be quite a bit different then the 0.00482 oz-in-sec2 for
your
units. What am I missing?

Alan KM6VV
P.S. Nice Steppers!
