Most of the discussion is on using a computer projector to cure liquid
resin, it works like a 3D
makerbot-style printer except a lot faster, curing an entire layer of
arbitrary complexity
in about 10 seconds. But, the guys there have a lot of experience with
filament fabricators,
too, and can point you in the right direction. Of course, once you've
seen what the DLP
projector printers can do, you won't want to settle for a filament machine!
I suspect some of these guys will print stuff for you if you pay them
for the PLA or ABS
material you use.

I think skip the glue gun, modern filament printers are a LOT more
sophisticated, and actually
work!
