I am misisng something here- isnt this exactly what we have with
egroups? A free service, a place to post files that members can share,
a way to discuss those files. Why use anything else?

As to not wanting a post like the gecko manaul, if you dont want to read
it, dont. He did not post the manual to the list so we all had to
download it, he simply posted a short note that said the doc was there
to read.

I agree that any list member with material usefull to this group should
feel free to post it to the egroups server. I have no opposition to
commercial material if its about CAD, CAM, EDM or DRO.
