Hi,
Well, I have been reading this thread about "buying" vs "making" whatever.
Well just one of my sayings is "Build it first; if that don't work, THEN
buy it!"
The point being, is that I LEARN something everytime I try to "reinvent the
square wheel" Sometimes, it works and many times it doesn't. However I have
ALWAYS learned something positive every time I have tried to do this. Just
like the DRO system that I recently built using surplus parts and bits from
my "junk box". Yeh, it may not be as good as what you can buy, but it WILL
serve MY purpose and I learned a lot about a subject that I knew about
before. Isn't that why most of us are part of this group??
I have a courious mind and want to learn everyday. This group has provided
me with many hours of knowlege and help. Along this line, I would welcome
haveing the "archives" available as I presently archive ALL my e-mail
messages so I can (if needed) go back and find a particular message. I
don't know how many times I accessed the e-group archives to find "that one
message" that I had remembered reading. Sure is faster if I have the
information on my local hard drive (CD) than trying to access thelist on
the modem with a 19,200 modem connection (Thats as fast as I can go and
stay connected! :{( )
Ok, rant off and back to lurk mode.
