I just looked at the machine. All you do is replace the acme screw with a
ball screw....a relatively easy task as I noticed from looking at it....and
then you mount the drive motor in place of the manual crank arm...just as
you would do if all you were adding was power feed.
Basklash worries can be eliminated by doing the same thing we manual
operators do. When doing PRECISION work, ALWAYS make your feed adjustments
in the same direction. This may mean the Z axis will have to be backed up
(lowered) past a "start" point and then the recommence (raise the knee)the
feed to the point where you want the bottom of the cutter to be.
