Re: Electronic Box Shielding ?

EMI sheilding is a real bitch. And i am being conservative. Every
hole in the box would have to be covered with a fine mesh metal and
soldered around the edges. The gasket around the cover would have to
be of a compressable metalic type. Now take in account what JON said
about the wires radiating the EMI. Forget about trying to shield for
EMI and concentrate on good wiring practices.

To practice good panel wiring do the following.

1) Keep power and signal wires seperated. And try to cross them
at 90 degree angles if you have to run them past each other.

2) Keep signal wires as short as possible.

3) The use of shielded cables may help signal wires. Only ground
shield at one end.

4) Mechanical layout of components is very important. So that your
wiring flows smoothly. And you do not have signal and power
wires close to each other.
