Help! I just lost another long, detailed post

Hi! (also posted to eGroups sherline list, where it happened, but I
am not as active there) HELP!!!
I just typed a long, detailed answer to how to machine a square hole..
When I pressed send, it disappeared, then I received a "please try
again later/refresh screen" , i.e., lost connection/ server down,etc.!
I read messages online and type responses directly into the
online "post" message word processing box. I'm using MSIE 5 and
win95r2 (in this case) but it has also happened in win98/ MSIE4...
This is getting old! It only seems to happen when the post is really
long, or detailed, or important. Each time it happens I swear I will
save my posts on notepad b4 pressing send, but the volume of posts I
do make that impractical.
So, does anyone know where the buffer/temp file is stored for a
message typed into the eGroups 'post' word processor???? I have
searched through temp folders and files to no avail...
How can I get back my work!???
Or easily save it? (Ctrl-S doesn't work)
Is this an eGroups problem, or windows?
Hope someone can HELP!
Ballendo
P.S. I listed (and detailed)7 ways... I have a good memory, and have
just re-typed before, but I am NOT a good typist!
P.S.S. I have also lost work by accidentally hitting the 'special'
key (as in Dana Carveys' church lady, Isn't that special?!) between
the right ctrl key and the "windows" key. The key in question has an
icon which looks like a 'grocery list' with the top 2lines dark, and
a cursor arrow pointing to them.
Press this key by accident, one of two dialogs pop up (upperleft
corner of the screen) one is small and includes 'undo'; the other is
larger and doesn't. You can guess when the undo is NOT available :-(
Anyway, if it's the larger of the two and i press escape, the work is
gone!... And I haven't found where it is kept while being worked
upon...
Unfortunately, years of CNC S/W usage has me pressing 'spacebar'
and/or 'escape' when something goes wrong. I'm getting better, but I
sure would like to know how to recover from this...
sorry for the bandwidth, I'm REALLY hoping someone can help me!
