For "gearing" you will want to use a toothed belt and matching pulleys. The
XL series stuff is very low cost and has been used for a long time. The HD
and GT series stuff is suppose to be better, but seems to be more costly. I
am using XL stuff on my Shoptask and it is working fine.

The G320 does not support a brake. The only applications I have seen that
require a brake is tape drives and many of the surplus servos from them (old
mainframe 9 track reel to reel tape drives) have brakes. It does require
that the servo has an encoder.

For surplus E-bay is a good choice. Camtronics has some very nice new servo
motors that would do a wonderful job for you.
