Oh, well, it is not the MACHINE that is at the limit, but the endmill. I made
some parts for the CNC conversion out of 4 x 4" billets of hot rolled steel,
and machined them with 1 -1/4" roughing end mills, and that WAS at the
upper end, as I pulled one piece out of the vise, and watched the head swing
about 30 degrees! That was a "jump back and watch from a distance"
situation. The machine was manual at the time, and it took hitting a few
switches to stop everything, the spindle, the power feed, etc.
