Jon:
Regarding HSS inserts, many asked why. Well, It's probably a crazy idea,
but I work at a technical college where an intro machining course is
taught. It's only to give students an introduction to machining and not to
be proficient. But much time is spent grinding HSS bits, a good skill for
machinists but not too useful to engineers. For a first course, using
carbide lead to scary speeds. So I have always though it would be good to
use std tool holders and HSS inserts. I'm not responsible for the course
but when the topic came up................

Thanks to all for the help. :-)
