In the Taigtools yahoo group some plans were just posted for a do-it-
yourself "diamond" holder called the Freeby. It can be found in the
files section under Richs' files...
Joe, The inserts mentioned in this thread are HSS "versions" of the
carbide tooling normally used; i.e., the little "chips" with a screw
through the middle, or a little clamp arm on top to hold them in the
larger body of the toolholder. The Freeby I referenced above is
essentially the same design as the HSM advertised "diamond", modified
for home shop manufacture.
