The use of any machine for a purpose for which it was NOT designed is
tantamount to playing "Russian roulette" with a 5-shot revolver!

HOWEVER! Using good-quality carbide "wood-working" bits, I use a
"woodworking router" for chamfering aluminum often. Or, using a
ball-bearing-tipped "flush-cutter", to match, say, a 1/8" alum. cover-plate
to a table-top (my "metalworking bench" is covered with a form-fitted sheet
of aluminum in this way).

But use common sense! It is very dangerous, due to the speed involved. Not
just the danger of flying chips doing lasik surgery on your eyes, but a bit
breaking off and going supersonic as it bounces of each wall and ceiling of
your shop, several times, before it homes-in on your careless face! It has
happened! Be very, very careful using a power-tool for summin it was NOT
made for! Perhaps better: DON'T!
