Hi!

I do see other responses, but gotta correct this quickly! Aluminum
routes FINE with a wood router; AT wood router speeds... Lubrication
and cutter geometry are important. Bits for routing alumnum are
available from many cutting tool suppliers... (now I'll read what
others have said)
