Vic,

I cut aluminum parts all the time on my cnc router. Aluminum can be cut
with carbide bits and high speeds. I am using a Porter Cable 5 speed 3.25
hp router and I run it at about 21,000 rpm. For deep cuts, I cut each pass
about .1 inches deep.
