I just recently fitted a cheap variable speed router to my Taig mill.
The router comes with 6mm, 8mm and 1/4" collets and I've been using
from 2mm to 6mm flat and ball-nose 6mm-shank HSS milling cutters on
Aluminium and mild steel. Works very well with a squirt of WD40 to
prevent sticking.
As has already been mentioned in this thread, be carefull.

Rab,
Rainnea Graphics,

PS. Note to UK members, Screwfix have that router on as a special
this month at £30.
I don't know how long the bearings will last so I'm tempted to buy a
spare.
