France, Germany and the rest of Europe also use these same voltages.
As far as I have been able to work out other than the USA, Canada,
and Japan, the rest of the world uses 240 / 440 v at 50 Hz
There is some equipment in Germany and Italy that uses 220 / 240 v
three phase but that's easily handled by switching from star to delta.
I recently had to change an ISO metric motor over to US specs as
regards shaft size and mountings. I got the frame details from Baldor
for a 2 Hp motor, it was huge compared to ours. I finished up having
to use a metric 3 hp and still it was smaller. I was quoted nearly
200 UKP for the Baldor 2 Hp whereas I bought a 3 HP for 85 UKP.
