But, really, what is the point of doing everything remotely? The display
and keyboard need to be within 2 feet of the machine that you are
running. So if I understand you correctly, we should build the linux
box into the machine, then get another computer connect it to the
linux box and set it next to the machine to run it.

Why not just run the keyboard and display right to the linux box
and do away with the second machine alltogether? PC's are
cheap enough to have one for every machine, and if you wish
you can still network them all together for file transfers and such,
but you really can't run the machine unattended from another
room.

Now if this was a commercial venture, I can see hiding the
linux hardware in a plain black box and hooking it to a windows
machine. Give the customer a CD and tell them to click on
setup.
