multispindle and sub spindle or swiss machines. But, these machines
are not usually in the hobby class either.
Lathe Quick Code was written by Wayne Hill, who posts here from time
to time. It is one of the few programs that does a really good job
with single point threading.
In case some may not have noticed, we still have the free download of
my multipass threading coordinate calculator. There is a link from
our group discount page. This is a simple exe program that
calculates the needed coordinates to cut a multiple pass single point
thread. Each pass removes a constant crosssection of material to
equalize the cutting stresses between the first cut and the last.
(It's free.) The results can be used for manual thread cutting, or
as input to a G32/33 type of threading program for a CNC lathe.
Lathe Quick Code is more automated, but they both achieve similar
results.
Also, there have been several discussions about Capsturn here in the
past. I suggest you search the archives for Cadem and you will find
some comments that may be useful to you.

does 80% of what your $2000 Capsturn can do. Combine it with the
contouring of Bobcad or Vector, and you can produce just about any
needed code for a hobby machine. True it won't do the best at
