You could possibly do what a retired gunsmith friend of mine just did.
Turn a sleeve to fit the internal thread. Screw this in and fix it so it
won't turn. then cut the thread size you need on the inside.

What he had to do was turn and re-thread a barrel 'cause the thread was the
wrong size. Then he screwed on an oversize sleeve and re-threaded it.
