Thanks Doug and everyone that has replied. Do you know the approximate
dimensions of the 3c or 4c? I was comparing mine to the 5c in a pix and it
looks the same, just smaller. It's a little less than 7/8 inch in diameter
(body, not the flare) and about 3" long. Must be real thin as the bore is
for a 3/4" bit and the inserts for the larger bits. Sorry I can't be more
precise with measurements but all I have here at home is the small collet
(9/16 bore, takes inserts for small bits up to 3/8, I think) and a tape
measure. Brought it home to take to MSC tomorrow & see if it looks familiar
to them.

Lew,
The only Black Diamond grinder I'm faimiliar with used a 3C collet
for the smaller bushings.
Since they used a standard type collet for the those bushings, maybe
the one you need is also a standard. Possibly a 4C? Have you tried
checking whether Hardinge has their collet catalog online? My old
Hardinge collet catalog has virtually every common collet listed with
specs. Unfortunately, no listing for Black Diamond, though. You
might give Hardinge a call, 1-800-843-8801.
