There are inventors (like me) who can tell you not only exactly what we want
done but can provide finished dimensional drawings to work from. But could
you read them? I'm waiting on a quote from a local shop for some parts I
want made. They couldn't even tell what a threaded hole was without
actually having the threads drawn, even tho' the hole was specified in
writing. They tell me it would only take a couple of weeks to fill the
order. However, I'm still waiting for the damn quote...and they are the
only ones I asked to quote the job. This brings to mind the question...how
would you know if I asked anyone else to quote a job I sent you for quote
purposes?
I'd say what I'm build could be called an "invention" (which makes me an
inventor) even tho' it's really just a piece of machinery with lots of
options. Being a retired machine design engineer tends to put me out of the
"crackpot inventor" league.
Some of us "inventors" do have money...not necessarily enough to run out and
buy everything we need at the highest price available and as soon as
possible...but enough that we can buy parts a few at a time in order to
build prototypes.
Obviously then, I can cross you off my list of places to get parts made for
my machine.
