It is a two axis thing. A rotary table mounted on a gimble. The same could be
achieved using two rotary tables. Mount one rotary table for say an A, then
mount a second rotary table on the first as say a C axis. So when A is at
zero orientation C's axis is pointing up, Z, and correseponds to a C in this
orientation. But if A is rotated the "second axis formerly known as C" is not
aligned with the Z axis. At an A of 90 degrees, the "axis formerly known as
C" is now aligned with the Y axis, B. Would the "second axis formerly known
as C" be refered to as C in all these positions?
