Ah Ha!
Ok, see.. I am ignorant!
Three things though...
First, I almost peeed myself pulling those connectors off... I
couldn't decide whether they would pull off with pieces of the PCB
attached or not. They should add "It's ok, they're tight, don't pee
yourself" to the manual.
Secondly, just to nit-pick, maybe they could put that bit of info
under the "heatsinking" part of their manual instead of the last part
of thei "main connector" paragraph. I didn't see it at first because
it started with "this is where you connect the wires...etc" and
didn't expect mounting instructions for the device there.
And my last bit of nit-picking (don't hate me, I'm just trying to
help), is that in future designs, maybe they could make that cover
snap or slide/snap into place instead of bolting from behind so
people who want to get in to experiment with thier step settings
don't have to dismount and re-goo every time.
And the last one (ok that's 4) is...
The manual doesn't state whether the "common" gets +5v or ground
using a LPT or +5v system. It only states "set this depending on
which you use", but doesn't state that it should be the same, or
opposite polarity.
I'm assuming opposite (duh), but I hate assuming with these tiny
little chips.
Sean (embarrassed)
P.S. Maybe they could make one of those "half-circle" bolt positions
right down the middle between the two current ones. All my heatsinks
have a bolt channel in the center.
<sigh> Ok...I'd better duck for cover ;-)
